Pet Safe Cleaning

Spring cleaning season is here and that means lots cleaning products being used. When it comes to cleaning safely with your pets around, you should take a few things into consideration before you begin.

First, you'll want to read the labels of any cleaning products you purchase to see what the active ingredients are and if there are any warnings for pets or children on the bottles. Many products will state that it should not be used around animals, these are the products you want to stay 100% away from.

Second, you should always aim to use green products wherever possible whether or not you are a pet parent. These products tend to be safer, but giving the label a quick read is always a good idea. Although these products are safer, active ingredients can still be harmful to birds and even to your aquarium.

Third, if the temperature allows be sure to open as many windows as you can. MKM recommends you move pets to a separate section of your home to ensure there is minimal contact with fumes, odors and products directly. Our pets are much more sensitive to these chemicals than we are. If you chose MKM to clean your space, we take extra care when animals are involved.

Last, you'll want to ensure that all cleaned areas are dry and odor-free before having your pets return to them. After you've used your last product, give the space at least 15-30 minutes to dry and for any odors to dissipate. Once you can no longer smell the product and you are sure your surfaces are dry you can reintroduce your pets.

With a little thought and the right products you can effectively clean you home and keep your pets safe and happy. We take cleaning and safety seriously, especially when it comes to your pets.

MKM wants to keep all your fur babies safe and sound while we clean!
